Family trip to Tanzania
We went in August 2026 with Kibowhy Safaris with 3 children aged 5, 11, and 13, for a Tanzania-Zanzibar trip. The lodges chosen by Virginie were sublime, the landscapes and the safaris were unforgettable moments. A little extra, we were able to experience the local way of life with the Sonjos. I just returned from a 3-park safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro) organized by Kibowhy Safaris, and I give it 5 stars without hesitation. Everything started with Virginie, who was a huge help in preparing this project. Responsive and attentive to my expectations, she knew how to build a perfectly adapted itinerary, taking into account my desires (especially regarding photography and wildlife observation). Nothing was left to chance. On-site, I was lucky to have Paul as a guide, and honestly, he made all the difference. His perfect knowledge of the savanna and the animals allowed him to offer us encounters just a few meters away with leopards, cheetahs, lions, hyenas, giraffes, and so many others. We even had the chance to have an elephant that deliberately chose to approach us from barely 2 meters away, out of curiosity! Paul does not hesitate to go off the beaten path to take us where the real magic is, far from the crowds: we often found ourselves alone observing the animals or with 4-5 vehicles maximum around us, in the middle of nature. A real luxury. Between Virginie's impeccable organization, Paul's expertise and passion, and these suspended moments in the heart of breathtaking landscapes and wildlife, this safari will remain one of the best memories of my life. Hoping for the BIG 5 and stumbling upon the BIG 6 😊
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A simply unforgettable trip! A huge thank you to Kibowhy Safaris for this magnificent discovery of Tanzania and Zanzibar. From the very first interactions, Virginie immediately put us at ease. That is also what we were looking for: a small Franco-Tanzanian structure, based locally, far from the overly formatted circuits of big agencies, with a real desire to build a trip that reflects who we are. And the result exceeded our expectations! Choices of remarkable lodges, notably in the Serengeti and Tarangire, perfect organization, and days where we were completely awestruck. Virginie even personally checked in on us very regularly to know how our day had gone. A real closeness that makes all the difference. And then there is Paul, our exceptional guide! 😊 Thanks to him, we had come looking for the famous Big Five… and we finally discovered the Big Six! 😂 Because after the lion, the leopard, the elephant, the buffalo, and the rhinoceros, it is impossible not to add Paul to the list! Passionate, attentive, funny, and incredibly endearing, he contributed enormously to making this safari unique. We are returning with our eyes full of images and, above all, memories for a lifetime. Exceptional custom trip
Thanks to Virginie and Kelvin, we discovered Tanzania in exceptional conditions. - A French-speaking guide passionate about his country and very experienced: we were able to observe the Big Five and so many other animals too! The parks hold no secrets for him. - Perfect accommodations and picnics - Smooth and seamless logistics - A 24/7 hotline (a little shout-out to Virginie who knew how to reassure us when an elephant was against our tent at nightfall! The program was varied: magnificent landscapes, meeting with the Masai and swimming in a waterfall, Lake Natron, Tarangire and Serengeti parks, the Ngorongoro reserve and its crater, the discovery of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. And to finish, Zanzibar and its turquoise waters. We were touched by this beautiful country and its inhabitants, who cannot leave anyone indifferent. Everything was perfect, we let Virginie create a custom trip for us (7 days safari and 5 in Zanzibar) and it was exactly what we wanted. The safari we imagined… and the safari we actually experienced.
To talk about our safari in Tanzania with Kibowhy Safaris, we could have chosen dozens of animal photos. But many travelers have already done so, often with images much more beautiful than ours. So, rather than showing only what we saw, we wanted to tell what we experienced. With Kibowhy Safaris, we discovered a way of traveling that is more human, more authentic, more attentive. A detour because a scene of life deserved that we linger there. A stop at the right place. A moment of silence to observe. An encounter we had not planned. And then there was the human element. The one that transforms a beautiful trip into an experience that you don't forget. Arusha → Tarangire → Lake Natron → Sonjo tribe → Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater. 7 days of safari, thousands of images, encounters, emotions… and above all memories that we could not have imagined before leaving. So yes, we saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and so many other animals. But ultimately, it is all these little extras that made the big difference. Thank you to the entire Kibowhy Safaris team for this exceptional break and for this very special way of helping us discover their magnificent country. The safari we imagined was already magnificent. An unforgettable trip with our children
This family trip will remain etched in our memories. It was a delight from beginning to end. We had nothing else to do but marvel. Marveling at the animals, the landscapes, the smiles encountered along the roads. Marveling each day while discovering the meals prepared for us. Marveling each evening when we discovered our accommodation. We were amazed listening to the explanations of Paul, our guide, who is fascinating and passionate. Thanks to Virginie for this more than perfect organization, for the live exchanges, and for all the useful information that allowed us to have no unpleasant surprises and to be equipped as needed. A thousand thanks to Paul who was part of the family during these 8 days of the tour. His kindness, his enthusiasm, his knowledge, his jokes... we are not ready to forget them. Thank you for the 3 days of rest at the Baladin, a heavenly place in Zanzibar. We were not used to entrusting the organization of our trips to an agency. An unforgettable stay!!!
We went as a family with Kibowhy Safaris and the experience was incredible for all 4 of us. We let ourselves be guided throughout our stay by the flawless organization from Virginie and Kelvin. A lot of attention from them as the days went by, we felt considered and pampered. Our guide was extremely professional, a wonderful encounter. What a trip!!! Unforgettable Everything was perfect. A big thank you to Kibowhy Safari and especially to Virginie for the organization and to her entire team. She knew how to meet our expectations and made this family trip an exceptional moment. From the first contact until the end of the stay, Virginie is present. Our trip began in Tanzania with a safari. Our guide Paul (exceptional) helped us discover the savanna off the beaten path thanks to his experience, and we were lucky enough to see the Big Five and all the other animals. It is a wonder to see these in their natural environment. We had the opportunity to spend 24 hours in a tribe and share their daily life. A good moment of sharing and exchange, both on a human and cultural level, with the family. Beautiful encounter. We finished our stay in Zanzibar, A little rest and excursions. There too, our guide Souleiman was great. He was efficient in his handling and organization. We let ourselves Let ourselves be carried along without any regrets. He adapted the outings so that we Could make the most of the places without too much Crowd. What professionalism from everyone Thank you Kibowhy Safari!!
